How well do you know the ACCA? The ACCA was started as a challenge to the discriminatory policies operated by the more established UK accountancy bodies. It enabled the working classes to enter the accountancy profession. However, it also has a darker side which has been carefully hidden. ACCA is an imperialist body, still advancing a colonial agenda. Rather than setting overseas members free by assisting with the setting up of local and indigenous institutional structures, it is creating dependency. In the classic colonial model, all control rests in London.
